Gorgias vs Zendesk: two different pricing models

Many teams comparing Zendesk alternatives also look at Gorgias, and the two price in opposite ways. Zendesk charges per agent: Suite Team is $55 per agent per month billed annually or $69 monthly (zendesk.com/pricing, checked Oct 2026). Gorgias charges by ticket volume and says it is "never priced per agent": Basic is $60 a month (or $50 billed annually) for 300 tickets (gorgias.com/pricing, checked Oct 2026).

Per-agent pricing favours teams with few people and many tickets; ticket pricing favours teams with many part-time agents and moderate volume. Kora Reply sits in between: Starter is priced per user for up to 6 people, and Team is one flat price for up to 12, with conversations unlimited under fair use on both. Our Gorgias alternative page compares that model in detail.

Why small teams choose Kora Reply over Zendesk

  • Live chat, a public knowledge base and an AI agent come with Kora Reply Starter at $12 per user/month. At Zendesk they start on Suite Team, not on the $19 Support Team plan.
  • AI is a monthly quota included in every Kora Reply plan, not a charge per automated resolution on top of seats.
  • A Free plan for up to 2 users, where Zendesk offers a trial instead.
  • A smaller product with less to configure: statuses, priorities, response targets and saved replies are ready on day one.

Where Zendesk is stronger

  • A much deeper feature set: telephony, IVR, skills-based routing and omnichannel routing on the higher Suite plans.
  • Add-ons for larger operations, such as Copilot, a Workforce Engagement Bundle and Contact Center (each priced per agent/month, paid yearly).
  • Telephony and messaging live chat are part of Suite Team, so one subscription covers several channels.

When to choose Zendesk instead

A fair comparison should say when the other tool wins. Choose Zendesk if:

  • You need phone support, IVR or skills-based routing in the same tool as your email and chat.
  • You run a large team that wants add-ons such as the Workforce Engagement Bundle or Contact Center, or Quick Reports and Admin Copilot on Suite Professional.
  • You qualify for the startup program (6-month Suite trial for up to 50 agents) and want the full suite from day one.

What Kora Reply does not do yet

  • No phone or voice channel.
  • No SSO, multibrand or HIPAA program.
  • No skills-based or round-robin routing yet; tickets are assigned by people.
  • Reports and CSAT surveys are still on the roadmap.
  • A new product: no public reviews or long track record yet.
  • Plans stop at 12 users; bigger teams are better served elsewhere.

Switching from Zendesk to Kora Reply

There is no automatic importer yet, so moving is a fresh start rather than a migration. For a small team that usually takes an afternoon:

  1. Create a Kora Reply workspace on the Free plan and invite your teammates.
  2. Forward your support email address to Kora Reply so new messages arrive as tickets, and keep Zendesk open for conversations already in progress.
  3. Recreate your most-used saved replies and copy your top help articles into the knowledge base.
  4. Set response targets for each priority on your business hours.
  5. Add the live chat widget to your site, then turn on the AI agent once the articles are in.
