A Gorgias alternative priced per user, not per ticket

Gorgias prices by ticket volume, which suits some teams and surprises others when volume grows. If you are looking for a Gorgias alternative, this page compares the two pricing models with facts from Gorgias's official pricing page, so you can work out which is cheaper for your own numbers.

Which model is cheaper at your volume?

On Gorgias, Basic includes 300 tickets for $60 a month ($50 billed annually), with extra tickets at $40 per 100, and each AI Agent interaction costs $0.90 on Basic and also counts as a ticket (gorgias.com/pricing, checked Oct 2026). Your bill therefore grows with volume, while the number of seats does not matter.

On Kora Reply, conversations are unlimited under fair use on paid plans; the bill grows with people instead. Three people on Starter cost $36 a month at monthly billing, with 300 AI conversations included. So a small team with growing volume usually pays less on a per-user plan, and a large group of part-time agents with modest volume often pays less on a per-ticket plan. Run both with your own last month of tickets before you decide.

Why small teams choose Kora Reply over Gorgias

  • Conversations are unlimited under fair use on Kora Reply paid plans, so a busy month does not trigger ticket overage.
  • AI conversations come from an included monthly quota and do not count as extra tickets.
  • WhatsApp (beta) is part of Kora Reply Starter and Team.
  • A Free plan for up to 2 users.

Where Gorgias is stronger

  • Seats are not the price driver: Basic and higher plans list 500 seats, so large part-time teams cost the same.
  • Email, chat, social and a help center are on every plan, including the $10 Starter.
  • Plans scale from 50 tickets a month (Starter) to 5,000 (Advanced) and beyond on Enterprise.

When to choose Gorgias instead

A fair comparison should say when the other tool wins. Choose Gorgias if:

  • You have many part-time agents and want to pay by ticket, not by seat.
  • You need voice or SMS add-ons inside the same help desk.
  • Your volume is high and predictable enough that a ticket-based plan works out cheaper than per-user pricing.

What Kora Reply does not do yet

  • No phone or voice channel.
  • No SSO, multibrand or HIPAA program.
  • No skills-based or round-robin routing yet; tickets are assigned by people.
  • Reports and CSAT surveys are still on the roadmap.
  • A new product: no public reviews or long track record yet.
  • Plans stop at 12 users; bigger teams are better served elsewhere.

Switching from Gorgias to Kora Reply

There is no automatic importer yet, so moving is a fresh start rather than a migration. For a small team that usually takes an afternoon:

  1. Create a Kora Reply workspace on the Free plan and invite your teammates.
  2. Forward your support email address to Kora Reply so new messages arrive as tickets, and keep Gorgias open for conversations already in progress.
  3. Recreate your most-used saved replies and copy your top help articles into the knowledge base.
  4. Set response targets for each priority on your business hours.
  5. Add the live chat widget to your site, then turn on the AI agent once the articles are in.

Frequently asked questions

Gorgias charges by monthly ticket volume and is never priced per agent. Starter is $10/month for 50 tickets, Basic $60 monthly or $50 annual for 300 tickets, and AI Agent interactions cost $0.85 to $1.00 each and also count as tickets (gorgias.com/pricing, checked Oct 2026).

It depends on your team size and volume. Kora Reply charges per user with unlimited conversations under fair use; Gorgias charges per ticket with many seats included. Small teams with rising volume usually pay less per user; large part-time teams with low volume may pay less per ticket.

When you have many part-time agents, need voice or SMS add-ons, or handle volumes above what a 12-user team can cover.

Yes. Every Kora Reply plan includes a public knowledge base with search, and the AI agent answers from it.

WhatsApp is not mentioned on the Gorgias pricing page we checked in October 2026, so we do not make a claim either way. Check with Gorgias directly.
